Nominated for an Emmy!The
“Truth” commercial I'm in has taken on quite a life of its own-
itwon various awards including a
Bronze at the advertising portion of the Cannes Film Festival. It was featured on NBC’s Today Show as one of the best ads of
2006 andincluded in the
Museum of Modern Art’s permanent media archive (see that, Tom- people
have always called us both a piece of work- now it's official!).Finally, it’s been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding
Commercial!This is incredibly
prestigious, as only 5-7 spots get nominated per year.I speak for both of us when I saw we're humbled and honored.Very, very cool.
Stairway to Hell (the off-Broadway musical with yours truly
as the lead) is on hiatus for the summer months, gearing up to come back
bigger and badder soon- check back for details.
New Album
update…I’ve written over 40 songs for the new album- it’s
morphed into a different theme/focus a few times over the past year.I think the resulting album is shaping up to be a really special
follow-up to RadioPlay- and what the hell- I’ll have plenty of unreleased tracks laying
around for a box set someday.Anyway, I’m slaving away on some of the catchiest, craziest stuff
I’ve ever written- can’t wait to share it with you.
Hitched!Yes, it's true- I’m finally a married man.
While I'm loving married life, I'm also still a rock star, so for all you
ladies out there who love sending flirty fan emails, please don’t
let this discourage either of you.
NEWS:
I've been cast as the lead in the new off-Broadway show "Stairway to Hell",
the story of the world's greatest
metal cover band, Warthog (click
here for their myspace page and add them as a friend) playing one last legendary show in an
attempt to earn their way into Hell.
You
can see me on Comedy Central, MTV, FOX, BET and a mess o' places- I'm the guitar playin' singin' cowboy in the
national Truth commercial. It even wound up being Talk Soup's
"Clip of the Week" on E!. Here it
is...and there are a few pics from the shoot below (Cheers,
Tommy).
In
other news...I was interviewed for a German documentary on comedians in Europe
and America. As I'll soon be a huge star in Germany, I'm
changing my name to Bobby Hasselhoff. (Thanks to Ruth and David).
Recently got back from the Burning Man Festival in Nevada; 39,000
people camping in the desert for a week- intense. I had the pleasure of
performing for great crowds out there (drop me a
line if you saw the shows). It was amazing- I'm already looking
forward to next year and it'll take me that long to wash the playa dust
out of my shorts.
Work
on the new album is coming along great (thanks for being patient) and
there's lots of tourdates in the works- please keep checking
back.
